STudents learn from local business

Community involvement and partnerships are vital to making learning successful and relevant. Westwood’s partnership with United Bank is one example of how businesses can teach students life lessons and skills.

On April 27
th, Hilary Miller and Dan Wolfgang, United Bank employees, visited our school and presented to Mrs. Smith’s 6th grade enrichment class.  Through discussion and activities, they taught students about the importance of saving for “rainy days."  The bank employees were also helpful in answering students’ questions pertaining to how banking works in our community.

Mrs. Smith and her class would like to thank United Bank for their involvement in their class as well as the many other ways that United Bank supports our school.
